In recent years the Facial Aesthetics Industry has been booming and is now worth over $2bn globally. The market grew by 40% last year 2019, and forecasts show that this growth is expected to continue.

In a recent report by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons they reported that 14.2 million non-minimally invasive facial aesthetics treatments carried out in the USA in 2014. Botox® was a clear favorite with over 6.3 million procedures (47.8% market share). This was followed by Dermal Fillers with 2.2 million procedures in total.

It’s not just the USA that’s booming. Brazil, Japan, South Korea, Germany are now all large users of facial aesthetics with the UK, Europe and the Middle East catching up fast with more clinics opening every day.

So Why are Facial Aesthetics so Popular?

Shift Away From Surgical to Non Surgical

With the increasing discovery of nonsurgical procedures there has been a drop in people wanting to go under the knife and instead opting for minimally invasive cosmetic procedures. These treatments are quick and simple, far cheaper and not permanent making them far lower risk and a good first step. It has also attracted a huge following from patients who would never have considered cosmetic surgery but are happy with a quick and easy short term solution.

Popular With Celebrities

In recent years, more and more celebrities have revealed they use facial aesthetics and fans are now following suit with more media coverage making it more socially acceptable. Kylie Jenner (Kim Kardashian’s younger stepsister) has been widely credited with the explosion of demand for Lip Fillers. The graph below shows the spike in lip filler searches in May 2015 after Kylie Jenner revealed she used temporary lip-fillers and felt more confident. Clinics across the world now see many younger patients asking for Lip Fillers and often clutching a picture of Kylie Jenner to illustrate the look they want.

More Choice of Treatments

Patients are now demanding a wider range of products to treat more and more areas and the average spend per patient in clinics is rising. On our Advanced Botulax and Dermal Fillers we now offering many of these specialist Aesthetics Products such as Botulax, HA Derm and more. Our Aesthetics Product are Certified and High Qualify Standards.

Health Benefits

Although most people think of wrinkle treatments when they hear the word Botulinum Toxin, it actually used to be more commonly prescribed for medical reasons. Axillary Botulinum Toxin can be used to treat Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). This treatment used to be commonly available on the NHS, however recent cuts now mean it is much harder to qualify for treatment and waiting times are getting longer. Many patients now opt to have this treated privately in a clinic. Brusixm for painful teeth grinding can be treated with Botulinum Toxin to the jaw and this procedure is now very popular with Dentists. Migraine sufferers can also have Botulinum Toxin prescribed to help prevent headaches. Botulinum Toxin can also be used to treat some form of incontinence – although this treatment can only be carried out by a trained Urologist.

Peer Group Encouragement

As more and more people try out facial aesthetics treatments, many choose to tell their friends and colleagues and with the results written all over their face its great advertising to show others the results that can be achieved. Often we see patients come in small groups so they can offer support to each other and share the experience. In recent years there has been a big rise in Botulinum Toxin Parties with more and more people talking to their peer group about the treatments they have.

Repeat Business

Because facial aesthetics treatments are non-permanent, it means you need to keep going back regularly to maintain the look. Botulinum Toxin usually lasts around 3 months and so patients will need to come back 4 times a year. Fillers will typically last 6-9 months but again patients will still need to come back at least once a year. This means the base of regular clients continues to increase and the overall number of treatments is increasing rapidly.
